Step 01
First, you will call the following number to go through a screening questionnaire with a Donor Coordinator. This simply helps determine if you're even able to be a donor for me (they'll ask for your blood type, medical history, etc.) and ensure compatibility.

Tell them you're interested in being a kidney donor.
-
Give them my name: George Gholson

Answer the questions truthfully
How it Works
If you are an interested donor, here are the immediate steps to get started. Individuals considered for living donation are usually between 18-70 years of age. Gender and race are not factors in determining a successful match, and you can be living anywhere in the country (don't have to live in Michigan).
Step 02
Once you pass the medical screening, They will schedule an evaluation appointment with you that will include medical testing, an education session, evaluation by a surgeon and a nephrologist (kidney doctor) and a conversation with a donor advocate. Blood tests will be taken to make sure this is okay for both your health and mine.
Step 03
After the physical exam and blood tests are approved and cleared, we proceed with the donation surgery preparations. I will be praising God for this glorious day when it comes, and I pray that my donor knows the magnitude of what they've done in giving me the gift of time ... and life.
